Clippers Beat Lakers and Extend Advantage, Bogut Back For Warriors, Suns Defeat Bucks, Harper Surpasses LeBron
After the Clippers downed the Lakers in the battle of Los Angeles on Monday night, it looks like we now know who is NOT making the playoffs. And that would be the former. The Lakers, despite having signed LeBron James in the summer, are now 30-34 after yet another loss and have fallen six games behind the pace of their inner city rivals and a full five and a half off the back of the San Antonio Spurs. The 113-105 loss at the Staples Center is another blow to the playoff hopes of the Lakers, and it’s also a devastating blow to them in terms of trying to capture big signings later down the road as well. The Clippers, who went a long way toward securing a playoff spot of their own with the win, were led by Danillo Gallinari, 23 points, and Lou Williams, 21, on the night. James had 27 to lead all scorers, but it didn’t prove to be nearly enough.
